Family-Based Immigration

Family-based immigration is the idea that you obtain legal status in the United States as a result of your relationship with family members. Generally, one must be either a United States Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident to file for a family member. Moreover, not all family members can be petitioned. Generally, only parents, spouses, minor children, stepchildren, and adult children can be petitioned.
